Easter Seals New York Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Training
WHO IS REQUIRED TO TAKE THIS TRAINING?
All new and renewing Taxi and FHV drivers must complete a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Training course as a condition of licensure.
WHAT DOES THE TRAINING COVER?
The three-hour WAV Training course covers legal requirements of transporting people with disabilities, sensitivity and etiquette training, passenger assistance techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.
HOW MUCH DOES THE TRAINING COST?
The cost is $65.00.*
WHEN IS THE TRAINING HELD?
Monday through Friday, 10:00am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm.** You are only required to attend one three-hour session.

For over 100 years, Easter Seals has been providing services to help children and adults with disabilities and/or special needs and their families. Easter Seals New York is a TLC-authorized provider of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Training since May 2015. Fedcap is a New York City-based nonprofit agency founded in 1935 to help people with barriers achieve economic independence. Easter Seals New York combined with Fedcap in 2015.
